Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are consulting fees expensive?

Not necessarily — and in many cases, the return on investment is realised far sooner than expected.
Even modest improvements to pricing structures, rostering systems, or workflow efficiency can generate measurable financial gains. Many clinics see a return on their consulting investment in as little as one month through increased revenue, reduced costs, or improved utilisation of existing resources.
My fees are custom-designed to suit each clinic’s individual needs and budget.
Depending on your goals, I can:
-
Charge hourly rates or per consulting/training session, or
-
Provide a comprehensive project-based quote to design, implement, and deliver a complete initiative (such as a new website, HR platform, or operational improvement plan).

To make consultancy services accessible and sustainable, I also offer flexible payment plans and retainer-style arrangements, allowing clinics to manage costs over time without large upfront expenses.
My objective is always to deliver value and measurable results that exceed the investment made.

Q: How much time do I need to commit?

The time commitment depends on the level of involvement you and your team wish to have. The more collaborative the process, the more tailored — and enduring — the results will be.
Once a clear and agreed-upon strategy is in place, much of the implementation work — such as website development, social media planning, and financial or operational tool creation — can be completed remotely, allowing your team to remain focused on clinical priorities.
I’ll provide structured updates, progress reports, and follow-up sessions to ensure each stage is completed efficiently and aligned with your business objectives.

Q: My clinic isn’t based in Melbourne — can you still work with us?

Absolutely! I regularly work with clinics across Australia and New Zealand and genuinely enjoy travelling to new regions and meeting new teams. The flexibility of consultancy work allows me to combine professional projects with my passion for exploring different communities and clinic environments.
Where possible, I offset my own travel costs to minimise any additional expenses.
If accommodation or extended travel is required, this can be discussed transparently after the initial consultation and once the project framework has been defined.
Many projects can be completed entirely remotely, but for coaching, mentoring, and cultural development initiatives, in-person sessions are highly recommended to achieve the best results.

Q: Are you insured to visit our clinic?

Yes. Unlock Veterinary Consulting maintains comprehensive Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance to ensure all consulting activities are conducted safely, professionally, and in accordance with industry standards.
This coverage extends to any on-site visits, including incidental interactions with your clients, property, or staff.

Q: What kind of results can we expect?

Each engagement is unique, but my focus is always on tangible, data-driven outcomes. Whether that means increasing profitability, improving staff engagement, streamlining operations, or strengthening leadership capability, measurable improvements are typically seen within the first few months.

My ultimate goal is to create systems and frameworks that continue to deliver value — long after the consulting project concludes.
